How rare? Mike I have yet to put my hands on one. I have not seen one in any trucks (Except pictures)
That one appears to be in great shape.
As for Value, you know the answer "It's whatever someone is willing to pay"
You can put it on ebay with a ridiculous reserve, just to see how it does. If it reaches an amount your happy with you can always sell it.
Nice score.

They offered something similar to those in the 80-86 years as well as a dealer option.

I've looked through thousand of trucks at the junk yards and have yet to come across one either.

I have however found 2-3 ultra rare front brush guards with FORD embossed into the front lower tube and several under hood tool boxes.

Nice find.

Lower pic: C9TZ-8146100-A .. In-Cab Tool Storage Compartment ~ factory installed option for all 1969/71 F100/350's.

Took the place of the in-cab fuel tank. Optional 25 gallon auxillary tank became a mandatory order for an obvious reason.

Have the lock picked to have a new key made. Same round headed key (C7AZ-6243562-A) as 1967/79 truck glove box lock, 1967/79 passenger car glove box lock/trunk key.

That is an awesome find. I have considered one for my truck, but never figured I would see one in person. I just figured on building my own possibly with a small amp and sub. Once I do the 3G swap anyways.

I've prolly cut 10,000 keys using these key cutters. There are two different cutters, one for the 5 cut key, t'other for the 10 cut key. This key is 5 cuts.

To cut the key without the code, you'll have to take the tumblers out, cut by depth, 1 being the shallowest, 5 being the deepest.

Square head key goes in one side, round key goes in the other.

The lock is the same as the glove box lock on 1967/72 Galaxie/LTD/Mustang/Cougar/Fairlane/Torino/Falcon. Some of these locks just have a button, install one, you won't need a key.

What are these "under hood tools boxes"? This sounds like just the thing I need.

I have one and love it. I got it from someone on this forum.

If you find one you will also need the mounting bracket to re-locate the coolant overflow/windshield washer container. These pictures of mine are obviously after I cleaned, primed, undercoated, and installed it.

I would love to have one of those behind the seat tool boxes for my truck as well.

Nice, does it lock? The hoods on these bad boys don't so tools would be free to thieves if they didn't lock.

It doesn't lock, but I dont think a thief is gonna say "Hey Bubba! Lets pop the hood and see what this bad boys got in it!"
