429 fuel injection problem

429 fuel injection problem

I have a 91 Ford F700 with a 429. The check engine light comes on and it starts running rough and blowing black smoke (flooding). This morning it was running find until the engine check light started flashing and then stayed on and I could not engage the gas pedal, it would only idle. Then all of a sudden it cleared up and ran find for a few minutes and started running rough again but, I was able to engage the gas pedal. Can somebody help me solve this problem.

Hi dab100 Welcome to FTE Sorry to hear about your engine issues, the one thing your will find about the FTE community is that the folks here are always willing to help one of their fellow Ford owners that might be having a problem or has a question.

You may have to do a search about your series of truck and year would best fit in one of the forums and post your problem in there, and I am sure you will get some anwsers from some of the folks here at FTE.
