I wouldn't run anything bigger than 35" on a TTB, and even then personal experience throws me back to 33's. With 35's I got terrible mileage, had NO power with my gearing and it would never stay properly aligned for more than a couple hundred miles. Not to mention that they were killer on the power steering (on it's 5th steering gearbox and its on its way out) and the rest of the front end. In fact, shortly before I started driving the truck the whole front end had to be rebuilt as the 35's wore everything out. I will never go larger than 33".
With that said, it may be worth it to just see about getting a quality lift with better travel. I'm not overly concerned with too much more height on the truck but I do like the look of bigger tires. The 33s look like they should have been on there stock after looking at them so long. Do you have a picture of your setup Evan?
I can grab better pictures tomorrow, but for now here is what I have.
The front uses axle pivot drop brackets like any other lift. However, instead of drop brackets for the radius arms, they are longer than factory and use factory brackets.
If there is anything in particular you would like to see let me know.
The rear uses factory blocks with lift springs. One thing to note is than the new Pro-Comp system, which is what i have, uses blocks now instead of springs.
