The Heater outer Box or Plastic housing under the hood has been cut up
by the P/O on my 77 super cab,why i don't know, but thinking maybe to replace
the heater core?. My ? is, anyone make a replacement to replace existing or
do i have to look at something like vintage air ?
I have the motor out right now and am was thinking now is the time to get
this area fixed.(Trucks Engine that is)
Also can the inner fender's be pulled out without removing the outer fender's?
The way you're describing it, you have factory air. With the exception of the 78-79 Hi-Lo comfort air heater if you have just a heater, the assembly is up under the dash. If you've got a big box sticking in the engine compartment then you have factory air.
You should be able to find the evaporator housing in a local salvage yard. The 73/mid-75 are a little different than the mid-75/up units.
Thanks Guys
Yes,it does have factory air! man the P/O really hacked it up!! Can i ask! does the blower motor come out from under the dash or from under the hood?
Looks to me like its in the box under the hood, but how do you remove the outer cover as
it looks like that cover is factory riveted on?
I will try and post picture's of it when i get home.
and i had a feeling the inner panels would not come out unless the sheet metal was removed.
Thank you guy's very much for your Time!
Really do appreciate IT!

The outer cover is riveted and isn't supposed to be removed. The blower motor and heater core are designed to be serviced from underneath the dash. In fact there used to be a decal on the evaporator housing saying as much.
I have pulled my entire AC system to go heat only (hitting the salvage yard on Nevada day--half price for everything). If your box is too damaged to repair, we can work something out. PM me.
WoW, Mike o, That is exactly what i have, and I thank you so much!!!!
That is a HUGE and BIG Help!!!!!!! I would have probably screwed it up even worse if you had not posted this! Thanks So Much!
