Can anyone tell me where this part goes. I believe it came from the lower intake but it's been awhile since I tore it apart and now can't seem to remember where it came from. It was full of oily gunk and has a screen attached. I searched the net and can't even find anything similar listed as a part for this engine???? Old age sucks.
Thanks for your response. With the intake off it's plain to see the pipe your seeing is part of the water pump and snakes under the intake to the rear of the engine where it finally mates with a hose. Looks to be a real bummer if ever needing to replace that pump housing.
For anyone who may stumble onto this thread; The part has been identified.
Before you laugh at me, please remember I have two in their 20's boys who use my shop more then me. I'm starting to believe that's why I keep buying the same tools over and over and... Anyway, shortly after tearing the engine apart my youngest rebuilt the transfer case on his Chevy, (Yes I know I tried to tell him) and for some odd reason placed that old, used nasty oil pick up in my visibly marked and highly sorted assortment of parts and bolts. I don't think his brain cells have fully grown yet because he spent several hours looking all over that engine trying to figure out where that pick up came from. LOL, what a Dort. After I explained it to him he gave me the oh so familiar, OH Yea!
Thanks all and especially gfi for your quick response.
