PMT2 conversion

I have an early 99 powerstroke and have updated the turbo to the late style. Currently I am running modified injectors but am looking to go with some stock AD injectors.

If I do this can I swap in a standard PMT2 ECM and run over the counter turners or will I be forever in the custom tuning world?

Are you dissatisfied with your tunes from php?
If you already have the chip... just get it reburned for your new getup...

I am not that satisfied with the setup. I have plenty of power but I get about 8 to 10 mpg. Leave a lot of soot on my fender and anything I tow.

I also have what the shop calls fuel knock, sounds like a rod knock.

If I could find a good tuner in the area or could play with it myself for a reasonable amount of money I would try to make adjustments. I have had a hard time getting information back and forth with Bill at PHP and he is way to far from me to live tune the truck again.

I have already bought a set of AD injectors, not sure how my ECM will handle them since my truck came with ABs. I am hoping I can just get a ECM from an AD auto truck and away I go and use over the counter tuners.

My other option is to try out DP Tuner or have Evan at Pacific Diesel live tune it. But he wants about 550.00 for a single tune using my chip. Seems a bit pricey.

Here's a bit of information:

Either PCM will be able to handle AB or AD injectors. They operate exactly the same way. ADs will work just fine with an E99 PCM and ABs will work just fine with a 99.5-01 PCM (given the correct emissions calibration). Swap and change whatever you want! Just don't put an E99 PCM in a 99.5-01 truck.

Thanks for the confirmation. Good to know I can run these injectors with my current pcm.
