scanner won't read code

Need Help, My 1999 super duty v10 has thrown a code but my scanner and a mechanics scanner won't power up and read the code, I also noticed that the cigarette lighter is dead. Any ideas about a fuse that controlls both the plug and the lighter? Thanks in advance Wayne

You want to look for a diagram of the Central Junction Box (CJB).
There are some on the web.
Some of the newer trucks use fuse #4. But you never know from year to year.

They share a fuse. Look in your owners manual (or look up your manual online) and replace the fuse.

Here is the 2000 owners manual. Its the same, the fuse box didnt move until 2002. The 1999 manual was "unavailable" from the Ford site just now..
