hey guys need some help here I want to convert my 69 f100 long bed from 3 on the tree to auto I already have a reconditioned automatic column lined up to put in it.
What I need to know is can I just take the clutch pedal out without doing anything else or do I have to make a minor changeover?
Remove the clutch pedal, the brake pedal (2455) will fall off, as it rides on the shaft of the clutch pedal (7519).
Trucks with A/T have a separate shaft (pivot pin) for the brake pedal to ride on. See 2A517 at left upper in parts catalog pic.
Don't know what changes were made by 69, but on my 66 I took the clutch pedal out and put the rest back. The truck is running the original brake pedal today after a C6 conversion some 12 or so years back.
On the later trucks the clutch pedal arm is welded to the shaft, which is also the pivot shaft for the brake pedal arm. The clutch linkage is over to the right of the brake linkage, and the nut that holds it all together is on that side.
You can get this clutchless pivot pin from an auto truck in the junkyard.
