My 95 f250 has recently come back to action after fixing an accelerator cable issue. I have noticed the rear tank has the fuel gauge pegged past E, but when I hit the brakes it goes all the way past full. When I turn right, using the turn signal, the fuel gauge jumps a bit back and forth from 1/4 full to 1/2 full with every "ding" of the turn indicator. 1 in 10 times the truck won't start, I just get a click. After a couple attempts it starts again.
I think I may have a grounding issue. Should I clean up the terminals on the starter or should I look somewhere else/do something else? I have two fender solenoids, one of which is for a Western plow. It looks like I have a small ground from the battery to the passenger fender.
cleaning grounds is a good place to start... and the cables on starter and solenoid. Could be a weak starter on top of electrical system -so there is a possibility of having to replace it. Starter can be checked for free if you bring it in to your local chain parts store like Advance or Autozone. Besides that though, it does sound like you have a few additional problems in dash area
If you still have the 1/4" quick-disconnect on your starter, you can slide the connector on and off the terminal a few (or several) times to scrape some of the grunge out of the connection and restore starting for a little while. Ford changed that after 1994 (when Crunch was built) to use a conventional ring terminal and stud.
As far as the fuel gauge/turn signal thing, beyond grounds I have no idea.
