Backup light switch

Backup light switch
I have a 1980 F100, 6cylinder 300CID, 3 speed manual on the tree and my tranny is the Ford 3.03. With that said, can anyone tell or dhow me where in the heck the backup light switch is or should be. I can't find jack on the transmission housing except for the speedo gear on the drivers side and the gear box filler plug on the passenger side.

I don't see any pic....
The switch *should* be under the hood, below the master cyl. On the column, where it's thicker, there are two levers with rods going to the trans. There should be a bracket holding a "push button" type switch over the top of the lever closer to the firewall. That's the reverse light switch on a "3 on the tree" truck.

Thanks friend as this is the best pic I've seen regarding this mystery. But where the column exits the firewall, I have nothing that resembles the assembly (15517) holding the switch and I don't find the harness (15525) laying around nearby. Without both there is no 15520-C switch. Is it possible, that a mechanic may have left it off while deinstalling the column? I ask as my column was removed a couple of months ago when my shift column lever failed.
