I also posted this in the F-150 forum. I was not sure where to post it. My apologies.
I just bought a 2008 F-250 with the 5.4l engine. The engine had been replaced, the date on the engine sticker is 4-21-06. I am trying to figure out where the PCV valve is located. It is not in the location that the 06 is, the blue valve on the passenger side valve cover. Dealership tells me I have to replace the entire valve cover, which also does not make sense. If anyone can help me that would be great. If possible I could also use a partnumber and where it is available.
That's what the dealer said....How do you then service it/replace it. I am old school, replace every 50,000 or 100,000 miles, or at the very least check it and clean it.

Valve cover has to be replaced as an assembly. Unless oil consumption spikes I would just run it. A new valve cover/PCV valve assembly is going to cost north of $200.
