I dont have a link but its easy to do. Remove the 3 screws from the bottom of the column bezel, remove the tilt lever(unscrews like a bolt), then remove the lock cylinder. The bezel will come apart and expose the multifunction switch. Remove the 2 torx screws from the switch and unplug.
For instructions on how to remove the steering column bezel and the ignition cylinder, go to the Excursion tech folder sticky thread, scroll down to Interior > Electrical, then click on the link "OD Switch Chaffed Wire Fix 1" for a How-To with pictures.
Once you get that removed, you'll see how easy it is the remove the turn signal stalk.
Just curious - is that something I could reasonably expect to find in good condition in a parts yard somewhere, or am I better off getting from Ford? Mine works, but like I said it tends to click off too easily. I'd hate to get a used one that does the same.
Edit: After a brief search, the used prices aren't that different than new prices and none of them are in the neighborhood anyway. I guess you can even get them from places like Advance and Auto Zone. For some reason I didn't think they would carry them.
I just changed mine out this morning using new OE Ford part from Ford dealer on eBay. Mine would inadvertently turn the brights on while signaling turns and was overall just worn.
