Blinker switch problems.
I just bought a '91 F-150 and the turn signal swith won't click up or down. I can hold it up or down and it will blink, it just doesn't click and hold (if that makes sense). It is the old style with the tilt and turnsignal using the same lever. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably one of the internal parts is broken. Most all the internals are plastic. Advance has a replacement for about $45, but it's a pain in the a** to change out. To change it out you disassemble the column just like when you replace a lower actuator for the ignition. I recently replaced my lower actuator, because it was broken and then (3) months later the turn signal switch broke. If you have to replace the turn signal switch you might consider going ahead and replacing the lower actuator also. It might save you tearing it apart twice like I did. Lower actuator cost about $10, dealer only.
