I use R&L Carriers commonly and have had good service. If you ship depot to depot, or to a business address there will be savings. Their toll free phone is (800) 543-5589. The wheels weigh about 30 lbs each, so five on a skid shouldn't exceed 160 or 170 lbs. I don't have experience shipping across the border so can't help on that aspect. Hope they can do you better than the others. Stu
Thanks for the responses. 51Panel, you are correct as far as it goes. UPS charges $571.00, but that doesn't include brokerage fees and other unwelcome surprises. I have heard that they do a good job for people within the US, but they seem to have real trouble coordinating with their Canadian office. They have owed me about $80.00 for about two years-they did send my refund to the vendor in Carolina instead of me!
If I get the rims shipped to Butte for approximately $200.00, I would spend another $250.00 for fuel and $100.00 for accommodation/meals...so?
I think I will phone R&L: thanks, Stu!
Is there a fastenal store near you? I have had great rates shipping wheels that way. Last set of 19.5"s from utah to wisconsin was $125 if i remember correctly.
Not sure if they have stores in Canada or if they can ship across the border but might be worth looking into?
Thanks Josh. You guys are great! I believe Stu's friend Jeff did mention that possibility. We do have a store here somewhere. That will be #1 on my to-do list tomorrow.
