I have a 77 Super Cab and would like to put the stock Rear Bumper on it'
It doesn't have any thing now and i see that the Bumpers are for sale
but can't find any one selling the stock rear Bumper Brackets to mount the new Bumper
Anyone know of were i can get these? I am in Arizona, anyone know of a Salvage
Yard in AZ that might have them,Just Soul Searching Here!
Are you looking for a step bumper or the automotive "contour" style?
They take different brackets. LMC sells an aftermarket bracket set for the contour style but from what I've heard, they don't fit very well.
The stock brackets have been unavailable for years and the last time I search about six months ago, there was only one out of the four brackets still available and that was one dealer.
Your best bet will be salvage yards, especially if you want the OEM contour bumper.
Here's the illustration from the parts catalog. Not a lot of detail, scroll to the bottom illustration.
Also, don't make the Bronco mistake. The brackets for a 78-79 Bronco can be made to work but they must be cut and welded. The bumpers on the Broncos fit closer to the body.
Ya I want the Contour Style Bumper,Not a Step Bumper.
Looks like i will have to fab Brackets to make it work

80s Broncos with a contour bumer will also work but they too need fabbing because they are too short (as Mike indicated above). Here's what I did...
Extended the in-board brackets with 3/16th plate:
Similar mods required for the outboard "wing" brackets. Installed.
FYI.. if Bronco-hunting, bring an 18mm socket & wrench cuz they went metric in the early 80s.
OEM bumper brackets... don't mind the different colors. The green one underwent electrolysis to dissolve the rust and shot with self-etching primer. The others just got wire-wheeled and temporarily primed.
Hey Thanks for all the Help!
appreciate your time!
Looks like a trip to the Salvage Yard,But Might be like trying to find a Zebra in this Arizona
Desert, Lol
My somewhat local JY has a set, at least a truck with a set and the contour bumper last time I was down that way.
If you strike out in Az, let me know. FYI do you have to have a hunting license to hunt zebra in Az? lol
I called LMC and they discontinued supplying the Brackets they had,and i am in a little town with only 1 JY and they don't have any,SO i would be interested
in the brackets if you get down that way!
As Far as Hunting Zebra in the AZ Desert,Pretty sure it's an Open Hunt all
Year Long, and Fish & Game would be more than Happy to take your money
and issue a License,Only its restricted to the HOT Desert and not at the ZOO!
Lol
