When I was looking at a ZF5 for my 400, I found that a special flywheel spacer was needed on the crank output to get full engagement with the trans input shaft. I would think you'd run into the same issue with a 351c, but don't know for sure. At one time, Tim Meyer fabricated & sold this spacer kit, but don't know if he still does.
