One of those idles up the carb when ac is turned on. I think it is the one below the fuel inlet. If you dont have ac, dont throw it away because you might want to add ac later. If you dont plan on having ac ever added then you could sell it or give it away. With that said both of them are hard to find.

I actually have factory A/C. Does anyone have a diagram of how to hook this up/install the carb?

To connect it to the A/C harness?
Follow the wire back from the compressor clutch and look for an empty plug.

I'm sure there is a spec for what the idle speed should be with it engaged.
But I don't have that information.

I have an 85 F150 (TFI) and I'm converting to DS II/mechanical carb. I have factory A/C; Can I use the "throttle positioner" on the carb (from 82' F150)??

Why not use it?
Should fit fine.
These carbs didn't change much.

BTW, you should note in your 'junkyard wishlist' post that the DSII harness you are looking for, is for a 300/4.9.

They have different lengths than the V8's

I don't think the V8 harness fits your 300.
The coil and distributor are down on the side of the engine.

Maybe the V8 just has longer leads.
If that's the case, I'm sure you could just ziptie them up in a coil or something.

I do not know if your new 7460 has holes or bosses to bolt the kicker bracket to.
Now that you figured out how to post a picture, how about one -of them side by side- showing what the problem is?

The carb in the pics (I posted earlier), is the carb I have. I'm just not sure how to hook-up the "kicker"!?

The Wiring?
I think I asked this before.

Follow the wire back from the AC compressor clutch and look for an open plug to connect it.
That was how it was done in every truck I have worked on.

Maybe your truck is unique.
Maybe some P.O. hacked up the harness.
IDK

Like I said, maybe you can make the V8 harness fit.
For sure, the I-6 harness will not fit a V8.

PM Tully Howell.
He mentioned back in post #24 that there are some available at his local junkyards.
(both V8 and I-6 versions)
Since this is his thread, I'm pretty sure he will see this...

I will look again this weekend, but when I did a quick look...I didn't see any...truck looks "very" original. My only problem, was with th carb (ie why I'm doing the DS II Conversion).

So you mean there's nothing wrong/missing from your computer controls and you're going through all this rather than rebuilding or replacing your original carb?
