Interco LTB Review

I still have not posted pics of my new tires and wheels, but here's a review of the LTB tire -might be of some use to others that are thinking about a new mud tire. I mounted 34"x10.50" r16 Interco LTB tires onto new 16x8 Eagle wheels. The LTBs are simply awesome looking. The outer lug is absolutely huge! Those that run Boggers will not be that impressed, but anyone stepping up from a tire like a BFG Mud will be amazed. The LTB is a handful on the street. I played with different tire pressures to get a decent feel from the road. I am running them on the street at 50psi. - I know I will have wear problems because at this pressure the chalk test shows a high center. These things do flat spot. After a mile or so of thumping along, the LTBs smooth out a bit. I have a wobble at about 40 mph, but I believe this is due to the balance job done on the tires. The wobble only occurs at 39-42 mph, so I don't worry too much about it. These tires are also loud - the beautiful low rumble of the LTBs is music to MY ears - the people in the lane next to me probably don't agree. These tires handle mud well! I took a spin around Quantico MCB yesterday and found a mud trail. This mud had been churned up and made deeper by a whole lotta military taffic before I arrived. I flicked it into 4WD and let it rip... Instant wall of mud past the windows as the LTBs slung mud. These tires self clean immediately - when I reached the pavement, I stopped and checked the tires. No chunks of mud clogging the treads, just pure tread! I am amazed at how well these tires work. I previously had the Interco Trxus tires on my truck, but the don't even come close to the mud performance of these LTBs! The LTBs didn't slip, didn't bog, and pulled right through. I love these tires! I will get pics up soon, and will be glad to answer any questions anyone has about the LTBs.
The tire stands a true 34" tall. I had to trim my front bumper on the inside lip to avoid hitting the outer lug when turning. There is room under my F250 for 35" tires next time.

Sorry to switch subjects, but how were the TRXUSs? These are the tires I'm leaning toward for my '86 F-250 (33x12.5R16.5s). It is going to be used as a tow rig and snow plow truck only so milage isn't too much of an issue, but incase I have to venture off-road to pull the B2 out I want something that will do well.

I had the 255 85 r16 Trxus - they worked excellent on road and were quite adept offroad. In the snow they work great. This last winter we had one of the tougher winters that Va has had, and I was able to get around just fine. The siping on the Trxus helps out a good bit. I was able to get them to misbehave, but I had to try awful hard to get them to break loose! They were great in most mud, and should serve you well off highway. Search the site for "Trxus" and you should see quite a few opinions on them. I prefer the Trxus over the BFG Muds by a large margin.(Now I wait for MustangGt's comment....)

Thanks alot... Good to hear I picked a good tire... don't worry i share your views on BFGs. I have run both the A/T and the M/T and my Dueller A/Ts are better than the BFG A/Ts and my General M/Ts are better than my BFG M/Ts were...
