Tall, skinny mud tires for off road use only?

I'm planning on buying three more spare tire rims that fit my 2004 f150 and finding a set of mud tires to mount on them. These tires will be for off road use only, like when going into the woods or trails or pulling people out of the mud or ditches when it snows. I want tall, skinny tires with big lugs. I like the super swamper ltbs and boggers but they seem like they would be wide. I also like co op grip spurs but they only come in 16's and apparently you can't put 16's on an 04 model. I'm looking for something cheap and durable but again they have to be tall and skinny with big lugs like on an army vehicle. Anyone have any ideas?

we like tall & skinny

have'nt seen them in awhile. We used to have a BOG-IN where you drive through a giant mud hole, all the trucks with tall skinny tires came out to do it again

I like the co op grip spurs and the old school buckshots, is there not any way to fit sixteens on a 04?

a while back somebody made 16" rims with super tight clearances...and I think it required a specific brake caliper as well.

but no, the 17" is the smallest rim you can use

what do you consider cheap? I've been considering the BFG KM2. for your purposes, Tirerack.com has the 285/70/17 (33" tall x 11" wide) for $226 each.

I consider that cheap...but I'm also looking at $300/tire because of my 18" rims....and I don't think I've gotten out of a tire store under $800 ever for 4 tires

I've found some recaps for around 90 bucks a piece for 34's on 17 inch rims. I would be ok with them if they were nastier, but they're kind of a generic lug pattern. Ultra Grip Tires, Retread Tire | TreadWright, Inc.
The LTB super swampers look pretty good but they're pricy. Also, Will I have to put spacers in my front springs to fit 35's on my 04?
