New Carb

Well I finally got tired of my leaky, smelly YF one barrel carburetor and ordered a new carburetor from National Carburetor in Florida. Got my new carburetor on Friday and installed it today ( Sunday) after the race. Everything was a bolt on except the choke stove pipe hookup is a little different so I will have to stop at a parts store on the way home tomorrow to make that change. It fired right up and went to a perfect idle, let it warm up and took it for a test run, PERFECT. First time that has ever happened for me when it comes to a carb change, I could not be happier and the gas smell in the cab is gone. I was getting about 13 -14 mpg out of my 300 with the old carb and will be interested to see if that number goes up. I will be sending National my Carter AFB 9000 series as soon as I do not need that truck for work.

I put a National YF on my 300 and it was good to go, just bolt it on and get a stove pipe like you said but there was a stripped screw on the piece in the barrel where the filter housing screws onto. I paid the extra $30 to get a lifetime warranty on it but I never did ask them if that means they'll go through it for free every few years....
