help removing warn hubs

OK I am pretty sure my warn locking hub is shot. I put it in the lock position and I can still turn my u joint by hand. I got the cap off and the otter metal ring out. There was No inner snap ring to take out. So now it should Just come out right? O do I pry it out? Please help.

Yes if you got the outer snap ring off then it should slide out. If it is stuck you could put the outer lock out part back on without the snap ring and that would give you something to grab on to at least..

Sounds good let us know how it goes, On a side note I would check your axle shaft needle bearings because in the pic it looks like the stub shaft is crooked and that combined with the fact that your lockout hub is toast would lead me to believe you have issues..

Ya I was thinking the ball joints. There is some play in the axle shaft. Does that mean needle bearings?

Typically ball joints wont take out a lockout hub, I would take the wheel hub off and check the needle bearings. You have to take off the 4 bolts on the back side and the whole hub will come off. You might have to tap on it a little to break it lose.
