Hello - I am looking to swap out the non-tilt column in my 1973 Ranchero with a tilt column. They did not come out with tilt until 1974. Anyone know for sure if a 1974 column will work in a 1973? Will other years work - and what other vehicles (LTD, Thunderbird, etc) are workable donors? Lastly - anyone swapped a column? How much work is it? How long did it take you? Thanks!

 

I'll bet that a tilt column from up to a '79 Thunderbird, Cougar,LTD II, or anouther Ranchero will swap, and be a direct bolt it, just unplug the wireing harness, and unbolt the column from the inside of the car, and at the steering box.
