Jump Packs
Hello all,I'm looking for a portable jump pack that would have the power to jump start a 7.3L F250. What does everyone else use and would you recommend it? My F250 had 2 new batteries installed back in Feb but the wife let it sit for almost 3 months without being started. She said when she got in to take it somewhere that the lights and radio came on but when she turned the key nothing happened. When I asked her what that means, she said no click or anything but some of the lights on the dash went out while others stayed on. I asked about the radio and she couldn't remember if it stayed on or went off when she turned the key. The truck is still kinda new to me and it has what I think is an aftermarket alarm system as it has a blue light that is always illuminated down by the hood release lever. I never got a key fob for it or have seen an alarm siren under the hood anywhere so I'm not completely sure if that is what it is. Anyways, I will need the truck to get to work when i return and will need to jump start it when I get home in about 3 weeks. What is a good jump starter box that I could purchase that will start this monster of a engine?
Thanks,
Otto
The brake lights stick on on my truck every now and then, to get it restarted cold I need to put the jumper cables on it for a good 10minutes to get enough juice built up.
it will start the C-15 600 hp cat in the W-900 Kenworth when the batteries die, and i have used it on the F-550 with the 6.7 diesel after someone left the lights on all weekend.
but i have not tried it on the one of the 7.3 powered trucks yet.

i was skeptical about it until i saw it in action.
the nice thing about that pack is the 24 volt option.
and since the W-900 has a 24 volt starter on it, it works very nice.
