What direction from here?

This was suppose to be the truck that I bought and just used, no rebuilds, no projects nothing!, just used. And here I am with the dash torn apart as the right directional’s don’t work. Well that didn’t take to long.
Truck, 1988 F800
Symptoms, left directional’s work just fine. Activate the right directional and you can hear the flasher start to click regular and then after a few clicks it slows down and then stops. The right directional lights never flash, not even slowly, not at first, not latter, nothing!. Of course I went right out and bought a new directional switch and still nothing, same symptoms.
As there is only one flasher, my guess is that B+ comes in through the flasher, and the directional switch, or the hazard switch, provide different paths to ground.
So what’s next, pull apart the whole harness to try and find a shorted wire?, run a new wire from the directional switch….
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would look closely at the light sockets, even to the point of disassembly. All it would take is for a ground at that point to make the turn signal flasher overheat and not work properly.
Lots to go wrong in a seemingly simply socket - rust, broken spring, rubber thru wire, broken backing plate etc. Just pulling the bulb out only tells the stork from that side, the action is on the back side and that is where you need to look.

Turn right turn signal on, reach down and move the flasher. If it works you know that is the issue. Prongs on the flasher is not making contact. Mine does the same thing. But at times both will not work. So will be replacing the flasher first. Then may have to rewire that section of the fuse box.
