I have an 09 F350 (116,000 miles) that I have only owned for about 3 months. I got it pretty cheap but it did have a front end issue. Drives fine most of the time but hit a bump just wrong at highway speed and it goes into a shake and wobble that feels like you just blew a front tire. Took it into my shop, not the dealer and was told I pretty much need a front end rebuild. Kinda what I figured I would hear. They are saying $900 parts and about $300 labor. Isnt money I wanted to spend but sounds pretty reasonable to me.
Last ride was an 08 Jeep Wrangler, I know all about death wobble and never had anything this severe with my Jeep. I know this truck definitely needs front end work, was more looking for input on the price I was quoted,
Eeehhh...I really hate it when shops do that. "Something is WRONG so we have to replace EVERYTHING!"
That's a bunch of crap. Something is wrong with your suspension or steering systems, and that needs to be diagnosed and fixed. Seems like the most common cause for death wobble is worn track bar bushings, but I have seen people have luck with a new steering damper. If your steering and balljoints are tight look for play in the track bar ends.
