HEI distributor question

HEI distributor question
Hey guys,
What is the loose red wire for on my distributor? As I understand it I connect the battery to the top of the dizzy at the male connector labeled "BATT". Next to that there's a male connector labeled "TACH" obviously for a dashboard tach gauge. But what does the loose red wire from the bottom of the dizzy go to?

Thanks Scrap! I got 'er hooked up in there. Now all I need is gas and I can fire 'er up! I wish I could do it today, but my son (who this truck is for and who has put a lot of work into it) is taking his SATs this morning and later today we have my youngest daughter's 13th birthday party
