also check and see that the numbers(the first series of four anyway) on the heads match
some of people get many many heads in and they are not a matched set so they sell them cheaper
this can create problems
not much besides cc match grind, different pushrods(8 this size and 8 that) and possible seal problems around intake
thats were i got mine(dsc)
290(ebay) normal 325 FOR 302C aussies
all the way cross contry for a ttl of 357
but ALL ford nuts should check their site you want it they got it
4v open heasds 300 4v closed 400 (2v 90 gee why co cheap ha)
or my next purchace 240 rods for 80
damn they got to give me a job
but seriously dennis is cool and a true pro not a parts monkey like the guy at the parts store or a junk dealer
he apparently spent a few years with a ford straped to his azz racing
i guess like all(me) of us started colecting parts **hey i could use that to.....** lol
Ok. I checked with my source. No, the heads are not mis-matched. Matched pairs as they are removed from the engines. My source says that the one of the heads may have been swapped in Austrailia when they were in service but that they come to him as they are removed from the engines.
My Oz heads arrived today. They're perfect. They look like they could be given a valve job and run as-is. I cleaned them with a couple of cans of oven cleaner and de-greaser.
They're matched heads that seem to have come from the same engine; the paint on both heads is blue underneath with black over the blue. The casting dates are the same, and they're in the same condition.
lucky
I got mine with the origanal valves and 2 of those were split
few of the keepers(keys) had the nubs sheared off
but the heads seem fine
but am working on getting them smoothed out **shiny**
and on a different note i got my new computer case in today
friggin huge
just on a whim i put my old 4/3 mid tower inside it
well no problem with air flow, lol
don't you hate cramped little cases
Sounds like you have a good excuse to upgrade the valves.
Yeah, I should treat my motherboard to a new case. The cheap case I have now needed some heavy reworking to keep things cool. I put in another fan that blows from the (open) side straight onto the memory and processor. It really helps cool things but it's noisy.
