All kinds of variations on Ebay. For a laptop, or all-in-one units. I bought a dirt cheap OBDII reader just for diagnosing the darn "check Engine" light. Don't know what I ever did without it. One dealer charge is nearly $90.00... i got my reader for under $40.00. The software for laptops does a ton more, but I'd need a laptop..... damn desktop is heavy.
LOL I have a fairly new laptop that is kind of a "spare". Would love to get a programming software to make adjustments to performance with it. Have'nt really looked but haven't heard of anything either.
I was watching weekend mechanic on the DIY network and he used a programm called autotap you could get it for laptop or for palm pilot.
autotap.com is the web addy

That is a cool package...BUT!!...(I know....there is always something else...), it does not look like you can make any changes, like shift points, timing...etc.
billybob, I was posting to the orignal post about diagnostic software, not to your question, what you are looking for is a tuner or a chip, Please do not hijack threads, IMO it is very rude and makes things very confusing for people trying to answer posts.
I think this belongs in one of the general fourms
