"I'm not really that hard on myself but thanks for bucking me up!

I guess these days where we're under a constant barrage of news coverage of our worst moments and events like this current gov't BS, boys peeing on one another's issues "just because.........." gives a feeling there's too much to set right, not enough time to get 'em all sorted out."-JWA.

Here, here or it could be Hear, hear... Don't know which spelling is correct for the phrase. My Dad always maintain the belief that all it took was one person to change things and that person would be there at the right time. You know Dad was right(as usual), as we see the people mentioned earlier in this thread throwing barriers aside... Cones being tossed out of the way of a family vacation by a Dad and the kid post it saying that's My Dad. "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant." Japanese Admiral Yamamoto. A toast of the glass to USA, USA, USA... Whoops, as I sheepishly get off my soapbox. "Even with all the bad news I know we're still a great place and there's no other place I'd rather live!"-JWA Hear, hear.

It is the best place in the world to live. But, I fear that the day will come that it will be less a place to die for.

I can't understand shutting down a national park that you have to pay to go into...why not just raise the rates to make it able to support its self?

In my area they shut down Rocky Mountain National Park which gets something like 3 million visitors a year...even if they are 3 to a car at $20 per carload that's $20,000,000 a year comming in.

Earlier this year they closed one of the campgrounds because they didn't have the money to keep it open. I had the same thought then...raise the fee until it can support its self and let supply and demand find the balance.

This has nothing to do with revenue raising.

It's all about inconveniencing the maximum number of people, in order to stimulate them to put political pressure on the administration's rivals.

Not really sure it's truly working out as they planned, however. Some are beginning to see this form of "shutdown lite" as a GOOD thing!

The public understands they are being played as pawns by the administration, and increasingly aren't liking some of the tactics.

Remember, even Democratic congressmen helped open the barriers around the WW-II Memorial for the old vets.

What's petty is just wrong, and it's increasingly seen as such by both "sides"........

I saw some welfare bums complaining that their food stamps weren't coming.

Heard fencing was removed from the WW II monument, carried to and placed on the sidewalk in front of the White House. Gov. still closed.
