New to site - not computer savy but besides that problem I installed a cast iron 2 barrell intake and factory rebuilt 2 barrell carb, all new tune up parts the truck hits but will not run maybe a total of 3 seconds (tops) checked timing made sure I was not off 180 degrees etc looking for any suggestions
I just went through this today. Keep messing with the timing. Start with the rotor pointing at #1 cylinder wire with that cylinder at top dead center then keep advancing the timing.
It took almost 45 degrees advance to get a rise out of her but she spit, sputtered, coughed and farted then ran as well as ever.
Welcome to FTE, lots of good people here.
Seeing as both the carb and intake manifold were off, check for vacuum leaks. A common one is either forgetting to reinstall the PCV line at the base of the carb or reinstalling the vacuum line for the brake booster. Both of these lines are 3/8" and would be a very large vacuum leak.
Yes ran good took a cast iron 4 barrel intake and carb off and installed cast iron 2 barrel intake and 2 barrel carb back on I don't think there are any vacuum leaks but had to tell because it won't run long enough really think it is timing really frustrating hooked up the PVC and don't have a brake booster
