Does anyone know of one or if there is a stronger master cylinder available? We may use the truck for a towed vehicle but the clutch is stiff and the wife wont be able to drive if need be. So need a stronger master if one exists.
Hank, I forgot my mind-reading hat when I got up. You should get a lot more response if you let the readers know what vehicle is being towed. I can make the assumption you are going to tow the truck behind an RV or similar, but that would be assuming.
State the model and such in question. Most Ranger clutch pedals are not very hard to depress, so I am at a loss. In general, to get easier operation, you reduce the diameter of the master cylinder piston, and increase the travel. Much like the piston in a manual grease gun is on the order of 1/4" in diameter, and can produce a lot of psi to push grease into tiny places, yet it is hand operated. If the piston were large, it would take a lot longer arm to be able to make it work. Note, the amount pumped per stroke is a lot less too, so either the travel or # of strokes must increase.
That said, you gotta let the crowd know what you have to see if a smaller diameter master can be fitted. Of course, if you have the funds, it CAN be done.
