I know with my old 4.9L gasser putting knobbier tires made my MPG drop significantly. I heard different treads dont really affect diesels all that much...Is this true? this is whats making me debate Cooper AT3 or Cooper STT (what i had on my old truck)
i think you'd notice a big difference between those.i would go with the at/3 just because fuel costs so much now.
i run the moderate tread also to keep economy up but traction sucks.just keep her between the ditches and carry some chains in bad weather is what i do.this all depends on how much you drive though.if i didn't put on many miles, then screw it,id run some aggressive meats.
OK, I figured they would affect it, IDK why someone thought that just because its diesel doesnt mean it wont affect MPG very much. Im trying to drive the car as much as I can, but when winter rolls around I want something thats good. My STTs i never had a single problem with them and they looked pretty sweet too
I went from BFG ATs to toyo MTs and gained almost .25mpg i think it doesnt really make a difference personally. Everyone always claims going bigger hurts mileage when every time ive had the opposite.
