CCV mod, how much hose?

CCV mod, how much hose?
Autozone sells a 6' section of 3/4" heater hose that I bought for my CCV mod but I can't put a plumbers trap in the hose and get it out past the firewall. So what is the going length on the hose?
I really don't want oil leaking out if I can stop it.

By p trap I assume you're talking about routing the hose up over the master cylinder? Even if you do that, you'll still have the occasional drip as the oil condenses inside the hose.
As for length, measure from the end of the 6' hose to however far back you want the hose to run.
FYI most parts stores sell hose by the foot. They just keep it in back so you have to ask for it.
