I have finally started hanging my front fenders and was wondering how far you are supposed to run the welting forward. I stopped one side at the end of the inner fender. The other side I stopped where it would meet the front nose piece (in front of the rad with the "FORD" letters on it). I don't think I would like the look of it running all the way to the end of the nose piece.
Where was it originally and where does it normally stop?
If you mean the anti-squeak webbing, it goes all the way around the nose piece (upper valance). A real PITA. And yes it looks crappy. Mine squeezed out, had to trim it with a razor.
I was planning on running webbing to the end, but should have been more specific. I meant do most people run the beaded welt to the end or end it somewhere short. I am leaning toward stopping short as I don't think I want to see the bead out front.
For the front fenders there is no beaded welt, just a the flat type that is placed between all the sheet metal where it meets. I laid out the welting, marked the holes and then punched the holes. After that I slit the welting to make U shaped holes so I could loosely bolt the pieces together and then slipped the welting in and tightened everything up. You can see my welting if you look between the pieces but that the way it is suppose to be.
