Anyone used the Dennis Carpenter headliner in a 56. Supposed to be like the original, grey pressed board (or whatever) with stitched border. I still have original rubber weather strip and assume the edges slip into it, plus two screws in the middle (SBW). $90 plus shipping. Also wondering if I shoud use peal and stick sound deadener or the spray adheasive kind on the roof?
Thanks for the help.
All I can say I have know idea how long Dennis has been selling these or parts,
but I gotta be one of the first that bought this grey headliner. Its been there
so long it looks origional. Geez I must have been in my twentys then and I
was smart enough (then) to trace its pattern I still have. Far as insolation I
just use that pink house stuff. Although all my trucks have full cab shields
I think they are warmer. Our latest build this fall is another 1954 F900 that
will have a 5th wheel for pulling a horse trailer. Yes my kid wants to be a farmer.
My buddie I hang with owns a junk yard and he gives me all the headliners from
vans I want. I got the pattern and cut my own. Then I hem and sew it just
like the origional. Most he gives me are white with black dots; I like that.
fortunalty I have an industrial 220 3ph sewing machine that will sew concrete.
