Purchased set of stainless lines for truck that are supposed to be "perfect match using factory specs" but all three that go to the outlet ports of ABS are not looking good. I traced the old lines (they were pretty rusted and lumped together mass in spots) and thought I had them documented right but now I am worried. I called and Emailed company because the sharp turns and bends are so complex I can never hope to make these lines but want to know for sure what line goes to what hole on ABS pump. All the 93 Bronco's came with 4 wheel ABS standard and I am hoping someone has a diagram showing which port goes to which line. For example - the port at rear of ABS pump module (furthest of three toward firewall) is for rear brake line. I would like to get a diagram I can forward to this line company to show them that the lines can not fit as made. (Also to make sure I did not make error when tracing and noting these at tear down). Wondered also if ABS requires any special bleeding procedure and if anyone has this procedure. The three pistons in ABS module just sit open until called for and I have bled brakes many times after backing into rocks in deep snow and popping the rear line (that is exposed on rear axle) which leaked all of the fluid out, and never had to do anything special to bleed ABS - it just filled the pump piston as fluid went in. I hope someone can direct me to a printable diagram of brake line routing, or ABS picture that shows what lines go where, and ABS bleeding procedure (if something special is required). I found many places that mention the ABS on this as being a straight through shot with the fluid - which means it gets bled when bleeding entire line set - but want to make sure nothing special is needed. This was first year that had 4 wheel ABS as standard but it was fairly simple from what I have heard. But before I can tackle the bleeding I need to get this line manufacturer to give me lines that fit - so please help me figure out if I got the line fitment right. Thanks everyone
You made a really long paragraph and hide your questions in there bud, that's why you haven't got any useful info. Regarding the bleeding procedure, just go at it like you would on any car/truck, no special considerations there.
I was trying to make sure I gave as much info as possible to explain what was going on. I am hoping that someone has pages from a Ford factory service manual, or any service document that just happened to show the different port functions on the ABS module. Also any document or first hand knowledge of the original recommended bleeding procedures. Have bled system twice before (the regular old way) after blowing out a rear line and all worked well (including ABS). But this time I am replacing every line so just wanted to see if there was a trick needed for bleeding. But biggest issue is getting the manufacturer of the new stainless lines to realize they may have put the wrong bends on the three tubes for outlet of ABS. I traced old parts (as best as I could) and think I have the order right but could really use document to back me up when going at it with them. When I put the new lines down on frame rail near ABS the one that I have marked as going to rear wheels looks like it would (possibly) connect to front most port on module but my notes show it should be going to rear port - and no way will this connect to that rear port as bent. I think they may have bent ends in wrong order but have no document to show this. The brake line company must have had something from Ford telling them which line went to which port to make their tooling and bend pipes to - I just need to find something to back me up on this. I would even like to hear from another 93 Bronco owner that could look at theirs and tell me how theirs are routed. It is not a document for me to use but at least I will know I am right about what port does what job. Thanks.....
