Flasher problems
I have a 2004 HD 4X Short Box Dually Off Road.
When the ignition is on the flasher module under the dash slowly (about 1/2 speed from the turn indicator speed) cycles.....click...click...click.
It stops when I apply brake pressure to the pedal.
It cycles whether the truck is running, in motion, stopped, or just with the ignitn in the run position.......anytime the brake is not applied.
Any ideas why the flasher is doing this? I have replaced the flasher module once already as the orig. one failed. Presumeably from the same problem.
Thanks

Doesn't the flasher always stop when the brakes are applied? Is the flasher switch the culprit?

Flasher problems
Yes they do.... But my flashers are not on. And if they are on they cycle about one time per second. In this case, no flashers, no brakes applied, no turning lights, head and running lights on or off, if you are quiet you can hear the flasher cycle at about once per 2 seconds. Even with the engine off, but the key on.

Short to ground someplace in the flasher circuit? Get a wiring diagram, a meter, and a lot of patience!

The flasher relay is in Aux Relay Box #1
You could just pull the relay and live without flashers. Turn signals should still work, I believe.

On second thought, that may take out the turn signals, too.

Flasher
When I had the module out I forgot to try the turn signals. The "module" that I replaced had 4-5 prongs on it, and plugged into a breadboard just to the right of the fuse access panel ( kinda under the ashtray). About 1 in cubed.
Thanks, I'll look for a short.

Try changing the flasher unit. It may be shorted on the inside. The turn signals should work off of a different flasher unit.
