I just bought a 2001 7.3 supercrew and need to put tires on it. I am trying to decide between mastercraft corser axt, or ltr in 285/75/16 or 265/75/16. I don't do anything extremely heavy duty with it I pull a 6,000# camper, and will be pushing some northern Michigan snow this winter. Any advce is appreciated.
Here in the mountainous PNW, where winter road conditions change radically in a short distance, I bought the Les Schwab Wild Country XTX - which is their branding of a Cooper tire (made in USA). This is a grippy bugger, but the best part is how quiet it is on dry pavement - this is not normal for a M+S. It also wears long on normally-powered trucks, but my right foot is all that stands between "Stinky" and another visit to the tire store before their full potential has lapsed.
Thanx guys, I have been a little leery of cooper tires as I had a set of stt that were hard as a rock. After researching it seems the newer models are more rider friendly. Would the narrower tire be better in the winter? I picked up a set of rims to swap seasonal tires. I will be keeping my eyes open for a summer set of tires this winter.

If you're going to have two sets of rims and swap tires seasonally (we do this on our cars), and plan to plow - gnarly-aggressive studded snows would be my choice for the snow season.
If you're gonna be plowing a lot of snow and want a set of 315/75r16s with rims I know a guy who has an add on cl for Yokohama geolander I/Ts. Look in Toledo cl. "That" guy bought them to do exactly what tugly said but stopped driving his truck in the winter. If you go snow tires it doesn't matter how wide they are there purposes made. If you go any other kind of tire go skinnys.
I hope this post doesnt step on any toes if it does sorry delete it.
As far as cooper STTs they are awesome! I bought a set for my wife's grand cherokee and have NO complaints. They only have 35k on them and are about done but they gave her the confidence to drive in the snow and that alone allows me to get over the price and tread life.
