buddy of mine ran a bedrug with no cover here in michigan.. not sure exactly how it held up but he never complained about it.
Your right, I have talked to plenty of people that said they have had theirs for years and NEVER had any trouble out of it. I know one of my buddies, even pressure washes it if it gets to dirty from the beach. I still want a cover, but am not in a hurry to buy a cover I will not be happy with, so... I procrastinate.
We all know what "they" say about procrastination... hahahaha
I do have a BedRug and no I do not have a cover as of yet. I can not decide on a cover. I want a solid cover, that can fold up and work with a over the bed rail tool box.
You are right about Texas and yes we do get some rain, but it stays indoors most days as I spend a fair amount of time gone. However, lets face it, I live in almost desert country and when we get 4-6" of rain, that is how far apart the drops fall from each other, not how much rain fall we got ROFLMBO!!
You have a badass truck... I think it's only fitting to have a badass cover...
I'd vote Diamondback HD and fit your tool box to it.
I want one bad and they are made here in PA. But at $2k with the side load ATV kit I want, its not coming my way for a little while. They make several different versions that may suit you better and a bunch of accessories, but I want the one that holds 1600lbs shown above
If you are into "other" things like audio competition and wanted
some color and the ability to change it you might want to look into
something like this. There are some other controllers out there I just picked biggest one
to show. They can come with caned programs or you can set the color and then the is the
type that use the music to control things. Also there is the basic dimmer functions.

Nice rex thanks! Do you mind posting pics of it installed? Really interested now since every time I open the gate its to get something so I might just use a toggle switch to deactivate the magnetic one if im sitting on the gate or something.
Does anyone know if they make those tubular LEDs yes that sort of look like a flexible florescent light? I've seen them in Angel Eyes and Halos.. Would be good to get/use as accent lighting in the interior...
They have to, in my parents new conversion van (basically a GMC Savanna converted into an small RV) it has those for accent lights all over the place. They are basically a rubber tube with an led strip inside.

Reviving this old thread, on the spools of LED lights, how many times can they be cut? What I mean is this, Can I buy a spool, and cut it 4 times or so? I'd like to do the running boards and use the leftovers in the bed. Is that possible?

They can be cut anywhere there is a little scissors mark, typically every couple of inches.
