The biggest question...in my mind...was whether Craig was in the basepath or not. Despite the ump's declaration that he was "Right on the chalk"...he clearly wasn't.
His feet were, at the moment he ended his slide. But when he tried to get up from his slide, coming away from the base to get up, that's when the obstruction occurred. It happened when he was still right next to the base.
All of that is moot anyway because the baseline/base path has nothing to do with an obstruction call in a situation like that.
You're right tho, a call like that, to end a World Series game, especially after Pedroia's fantastic stop and throw home? Yeah, that does suck.
Another unusual ending. Dude got hung out to dry at first!
Yeah, the absolute one thing that cannot happen when you're the pinch runner. Much less in a World Series game, in the bottom of the ninth, with two outs.
nooooooo sox,but to be honest the cards have small chance of winning 2 in boston. not giving up until it's over, though!!
Cards have great pitching...Wacha has been an animal these playoffs...4-0...1.00 ERA. He should have lost game 2 though...Saawx poor fielding handed the Cards the game. Hopefully it's a good game and not a blow out either way...may the best team win!!!
A great Fogerty tune...one of my favorites. Napoli is in the lineup...1st base...batting clean up. With him it's generally all or nothing...hopefully tonight it's all!!!
