I'm so damned proud of the sawx right now. Ben Cherrington and Boston's ownership dumped a ton of talent and lost a good portion of their over priced payroll and put together a scrappy band of misfits that other teams were all to happy to shed from their line-ups.
The BoSox have captured their 13th ALCS title and they are on to their 3rd world series in 10 years. If you have one of the oldest and smallest stadiums in the MLB, this is one way to pay the bills.

Two years/35 million.
Giants sign Lincecum to a deal today.
That's around 11 - 15 million more than I thought the Gigantes would pony up for Big Time Timmy Jim.
On a side note, it looks like your Dodgers may lose Mattingly, Steve.

So would I. The Dodgers came around this year, and with the Giants having won the World Series twice in three years, it looked like both teams in the rivalry would be competing against each other full bore in the coming years.
Mattingly leaving could throw a wrench into that.
Oooooo, can you imagine if Dusty were hired to replace Mattingly?
