I need some help grounding my GPR. The last time I did this i ended up killing my truck. So my question is where should i put the ground wire for a manual GPR setup. Last time i hooked a wire going from post that is supposed to be grounded to a switch in the cab and then from the switch to negative side of the battery it worked maybe 4 times then quit. I don't know if that killed my relay or glow plugs? So this time I am looking for an alternate ground point but i have know idea where these ground points are. If someone could post some pictures of where they grounded there setup or some good ground points it would put me at ease. I have a new Motorcraft relay coming tomorrow and I don't want to mess this up. Any help much appreciated.
BTW the setup that i mentioned is not what killed my truck just stupidity on my end.
My PCM was either:
A. Not sending the signal to ground the GPR
or
B. Messed up wire between the PCM and GPR
So to bypass that and my wallet I learned from the forums to make a manual ground which by the way is perfectly and no more hard starts. Also for anyone wanting to replace their GPR DO NOT BUY THE BWD GPR. I bought two just to see if they work (even with manual glow plug setup) and nothing but headaches. So I stuck with Motorcraft and bam hot glow plugs. Thanks to everyone here you guys have saved me a lot of money!!!!
