a little plastic surgery...

So i made it up to the goldmine and got my new front clip.
The header panel was white...
And the new grille is just almost too pretty to do my green bug eyes on...
So i did this to start with.

And how it looks assembled...

I got an appointment to take her up to the frame shop on monday... the fella i talked to estimates around 6 pulls with the machine... and around 300$?
I expected frame work to be horrific... but apparently it works out to about 50$/hr shop time.

The new hood came in on Wednesday..
My spray in bedliner stuff came thursday...
So many other boxes have arrived...

New trans case shifter motor
New vacuum actuator switch thingy
Under the overhead 4 gauge cluster
New 4 gauge a pillar pod
New smoked roof lenses and l.e.d. plugins...
New double din head unit (installed that today)
I think i got the same one TXtinct got made by Pyle

I did get to spray my hood today.
As it arrived...

After i hit it with bedliner...

My grille emblem came in...
It isnt exactly matched to the grabber green on the header panel... but it will do.
I will have to snap a pic with it on the grille in the light tomorrow.

To you guys that have done the 05-07 facelift..
There is like a dowell in the very center of the grille casting that pokes the center rib on the header panel when i try to fit it all together...
It kinda keeps the grille from settling down all the way in the snaps on the bottom side.
Can i just shave it to fit? Is that the normal process here?

Getting very anxious. Been having a hard time finding a trailer that i would feel comfortable carrying Motorbug on... so i think i will end up calling a rollback. I dont have ramps for my trailer and dont think its wide enough anyway... may have to take a torch and welder to it and modify a bit. But thats a later project.

Tom... got it off fleabay. Right at 4 bills with shipping.
The fit is perfect. The finish was just a primer but was done with attention to detail. I have no complaints.

David... with a garden hose. Bedliner rocks like that.

How happy are you with the results from the frame shop?

They can make or break a project.

Liner product is a full commercial part a, part b active mix. I have used other brands in the past, this stuff was by far better for my wallet than having the front end repainted by a shop. It cleans up easy, it applies as thick or thin as you like, keeps the wet look appearance.

The brand name is "LineXtreme"
The whole hood took about 1/2 gallon of mixed product.
I still have 5 1/2 gallons ready to mix and make me some $
Anybody need anything sprayed with liner?

Again...
Washing it...
It washes off with the garden hose.
Not that i usually wash my truck anyway...

No different than rinsing out a bed that has been sprayed.

That is supposed to happen tomorrow. Im hopeful. Will definitely report on how they treat my girl. With the new hood on...it is much easier to see how far the nose was pushed over.
