HELP...1989 F350 Problems

Replaced the alternator (twice), replaced the batteries (twice), replaced voltage regulator, glow plug regulator....battery light stays on. The truck will run for a day and then it won't start...alternator is not charging the batteries...the voltage reads low.

Take your alternator in to an auto parts store and have them run a test on it. They occasionally sell a faulty one. I once bought a new starter that was shot in 3 days after only starting the truck about 4 times.

Also check the charge cable, the 2G alternators have issues with the plug specifically.

Tye's probably right though. I went through 3 Napa alternators in 3k miles once.
