What year and engine is the truck? Oil out the valve cover breather can mean high crankcase pressure. This means blow-by. In New engines it can mean you have some ring gaps lined up. In old engines it can simply mean they are on their last legs. The light means low brake fluid. And as mentioned it doesn't evaporate its going somewhere. Also it is hydroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture and deteriorates. Flush the brakes and you likely need a rear brake cylinder. Pull your drums to see. If your in there do the shoes too. They will likely be soaked in the oil.
The brake light is also tied in with abs sensor on rear axle from about 87 to the 90's some time. So I ask Hard brake applications where you lock the wheels?
I'm going to change the valve cover gasket tomorrow and see if that helps with my oil leak any.
I looked at my lines and they are all good, steel lines no kinks or bubbles.
I adjusted my parking brake and I will test if that helped my brakes at all. They were acting god this morning but as the day went on they got worse and worse. (About three or four twenty minutes drives, not much mileage at 35mph)
Anything I should look for as far as the valves go? Also where could I look to see if it is a rear main? From the valve cover back it's all oil covered. It blew out the breather on the highway. I'm going to wash it as best as I can tonight.
If it's blowing out the breather at sustained high rev's I would do a leakdown or at least compression test all 6 cylinders.
That doesn't sound good.
As far as the brakes.
Adjust the drums and see how much that helps.
Does the pedal stay high and firm if you hold pressure with the engine off?
If you've bled the brakes and checked the lines, the master cylinder may be leaking internally.
Tightened the drums and it stops now, I didn't see a light, but I'm used to the disks stopping it and te drums are stopping it now, almost feels like I have a trailer. I washed the engine alot today and I'm going to see if I can spot any an all leaks tomorrow after I drive it.
