So I think I've seen the first issue out of my truck this morning. On the way into work I couldn't get the cruise control to function. This is a big deal to me, after a back surgery a few years ago it gets painful really quickly when I have to ride the gas pedal for more than a few minutes. Four hours later my back and leg are still bothering the heck out of me.
Your high pressure fuel pump is going to explode sending schards of metal all through the fuel system and your intercooler is about to drown!!!!!............brakelights or fuses
got a used hpfp from a 6.4 we can throw in there...I would think a fuse or bulb...but did the flashers work extra fast as well? Fast flashers is a sign of a burn't bulb.
Thanks guys. If I'm lucky my HPFP destruction will prompt me to launch a "shame on Ford" campaign that will throw the F150 forum into turmoil for the next couple of years.
I don't think it was the lights. My brake lights seem to be working fine, and after that one trip the cruise control was working fine. We will see how it does tomorrow after sitting all night, unfortunately I may have an intermittent electrical gremlin to deal with.
I'm still scratching my head wondering why he took a video of it?
I had an intermittent gauge issue with my 2011 Mustang once. Hard as hell to reproduce, and when it went into my dealer to get it fixed they couldn't track it down. Fortunately I had a video of it to show them, but even more importantly I had a case escalated through Deysha, the Ford social media rep for the Mustang forum.
When they couldn't find the issue, that video is what ended up prompting Ford Customer Service to give me a free 45,000 mile maintenance package for my trouble since there obviously was a problem that they couldn't locate. If it's intermittent and you can't prove that it happened, who's to say that it's even an issue? I took a video of an intermittent squeak on my 2010 Fusion once, and the service department was able to diagnose and repair a failing blower motor with just that video.
Send your info my way; I'll be happy to do what I can to assist. In your PM, include your full name, best daytime phone number, current mileage, VIN, and preferred servicing dealership.
