My experience with my Duramax

Followed all the hype and went with an AFE
Followed some more hype and went the a Banks intake and exhaust

Didn't find any improvements.

Did some more research and what I eventually found out, at least with the LBZ DMax, is that the stock intake was superior in both flow and filtration to anything on the aftermarket.

"oiled" filters are not the best for turbos.

I'm pretty well convinced FoMoCO designed an intake that not only filters well (think engine warranty) but flows enough air for the horsepower generated.

Just my opinion, but no more aftermarket intakes for me.

Bingo, I think Porthole hit the nail on the head. If your still under warranty and lose a turbo with an a/m filter your probably going to be paying out of pocket.
