My first post

Hell-o Everybody!
I just got my new F1 that I wanted all my life!! I found it in an airport
hanger. it is solid with no real rust, the old owner was starting to rebuild
it but passed away. Motor turns over but I get no spark! New battery,
pug wires, roto-cap, new coil, checked point gap but nothing
Want to send pics but I am to new

Ken

Nice find.
Post some questions and you'll get responses while adding to your post count...so you can post pics.

How long did the truck sit? I am curious if bad fuel is the problem.
How's the choke?

Welcome to FTE!

When you say no spark, do you mean literally there's no spark at the plug and/or coil wire? Or do you mean it just won't fire up?

If it's no spark, make sure you are actually getting voltage to the coil.

If it just won't fire up, I'm with mont, check the fuel system.

Have you cranked it with the cap off to see if the points are arcing?

If the points arc, but there's no fire from the coil, it could be a bad coil. New does not always mean good.

Does the truck have the original 6v positive ground electrical system?

Could we see some pictures? Here is how.

But I got ta say becoming a supporter is the fastest and easiest way to post pics right from
your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Here's a tutorial Bob put together: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/67...-pictures.html

Pics can be added to your first post. There is no number of posts required by FTE before you can put pics in a post.

No biggie. I see that once in a while, and I want to see pics of everyone's truck, so I don't want them to wait to show them.

There is some sort of a post requirement on doing a search on FTE, but I can't remember what that limit is. I think it's been lowered to 5 posts.
