Also, how do I get the fuel filter off? Do I just pull it at each end? Tried that and it won't come off. I'm pulling so hard I'm afraid of ripping my fuel line.
Don't destroy anything. Go to the local parts store and buy a maintenance manual for less than 20 bucks. I buy them for the basic info on stuff I can do in my driveway. Good luck
You'll need a tool to disconnect the fuel line. there is a spring holding a detent on the fuel filter ends. Lisle makes a tool that comes in a set of 5 or 6 that costs ten bucks.
Try Going to the Miscellaneous Forum in this website and look under Fuel systems, carburetors
if you are working on your V8 explorer the pcv valve is either on the passenger side rear of the valve cover or behind the intake near the firewall on a black rubber hose and is hard to see.
be patient!

Strike two? OK. I don't see where I did anything but if you say so. I did hear that about this site, however. I'll just stick to FordExplorer.net where we don't have any problems like this. Thanks for the nice, curteous PM (I didn't get one). Could've been handled a lot better. You're not dealing with a child here.
If yours is like my 96, the pcv valve is on the rear center of the intake manifold and as far as I know, cannot be replaced by mere mortals. If you don't have a specific problem, leave it alone or have the dealer do it. (or provide you with a reciept that says they did it.)
BTW, the world and this forum do not revolve around you, and if you cannot deal with grownup things like rules, stay out of it.
