It's close, but it is not the same.

You looking to buy a used trans? Vs. a reman or having yours rebuilt?

Are you absolutely positive your trans is gone? Every week there are people here that think they have a transmission problem but many times it's just a sensor problem. This gearbox is completely computer controlled and all powertrain sensors affect it's operation becasue there is only 1 computer for both engine and trans and it's programed to make the trans do weird things if it loses one or more of it's critical inputs.. those being VSS(speed), TPS(Throttle position) and MLPS(shift lever position sensor).

Pretty sure when i pulled trans pan it was full of metal shavings, never had a issue before. I stop at a stop light an it would not go i gear an when it did started whinning an sliping. So got it to work an pulled pan thats when i found the shavings an smelt the burnt fluid. I have been looking for one an was told a by trans shop that the 460 an any of the diesels all had the same bell housing bolt pattern.I can find E4ODs that are off diesels all over but not a big block, most have been rebuilt already. Im just not having much luck with these Transmission Shops around me so if i can find one to put in tel i can get it rebuilt right.Shops want 1,000-8,000 just to rebuild but if they dont know the differce between the bolt patterns leaves me a little nerves about paying all that money for nothing!
